Chapter Initiatives
FIL Academic Cotillion
In keeping with the Future Iota Leaders Auxiliary program, Epsilon Zeta’s FIL Academic Cotillion is designed a mentorship program open to high school students. The Sorors serve as mentors for the young ladies and in turn, the young ladies called “Gems of Excellence” mentor a “Little Sister.” The Gems are escorted by young men called Gentlemen of Distinction.”
The Cotillion aims to provide formal social experience for high school teens, fostering skills in etiquette, social interaction, and community involvement. It includes a series of workshops and a formal dance, allowing teens to learn essential social skills, such as proper dining etiquette, dance techniques, and effective communication. All workshops are geared to prepare our participants for life after leaving high school. The program also encourages volunteerism among our participants and completing a community service project is a mandatory criteria of being involved in the Cotillion.
Epsilon Zeta’s annual FIL Cotillion serves as more than just a social event; it plays a vital role in the development of teens in our community. By participating, young adults gain confidence and learn valuable life skills that will benefit them in various social settings. Moreover, the event fosters connections among participants, encouraging friendships and a sense of community.

community for significant contributions in making the Virgin Islands a better place for all. We honor those who show leadership, dedication, integrity, humility, and serve with compassion. The Honorees are recognized for providing exemplary service to the community.
