Soror Sherilyn Hodge was born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. A proud graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, Class of 1987, her passion for education led her to pursue higher learning at Point Park College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Committed to academic excellence and professional growth, she later obtained a Master’s degree in Curriculum Development and Technology from Grand Canyon University.

In 1992, Soror Sherilyn began her career with the Virgin Islands Department of Education as an elementary teacher at Joseph Sibilly Elementary School. Over the course of 32 years, she diligently taught various grade levels and was honored as a Teacher of the Year nominee in 2021—an acknowledgment of her hard work, dedication, and impact on students and the teaching profession in the Virgin Islands. In 2024, she made the decision to close that chapter and embrace a new leadership role in early childhood education. She now serves as Director of the Methodist Church St. Thomas/St. John Circuit Preschool, where she oversees the education and development of approximately 80 preschoolers and manages a team of 12 staff members across the islands of St. Thomas and St. John.

In December 2008, Soror Sherilyn joined the Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. She lives by the guiding principle found in Luke 12:48: “To whom much is given, much will be required,” and has consistently demonstrated this through her service to the sorority. Over the years, she has held multiple leadership roles and chaired numerous committees. Her most recent position as Second Vice President has paved the way for her elevation to Chapter President for the 2025–2026 sorority year.
